Shortly after President Biden took office, ALICE submitted the paper Alaska 2021+ Policy Priorities to incoming staff to showcase Alaska’s outsized role in helping the Nation meet its Paris Accord obligations, arm them with pragmatic, actionable, agency-specific guidance, and reverse the environmental harms and neglect imposed historically and most recently by the Trump administration in Alaska. As such, it is but a first step in defining Alaska’s unique role as we collectively turn to face the monumental task of adapting to and mitigating the effects of global warming.
